Toen ik werd gevraagd om weer mee te doen met de Row Along wist ik gelijk wat het moest worden. Het thema van dit jaar spreekt mij erg aan, ik houd van de zomer en de lichtjes in de tuin (of op de camping 😉 ). Lichtjes moesten er in elk geval bij zijn. Omdat het patroon ‘Tweet’ al jaren een topper is, was de link snel gelegd. Ook de vogels zijn natuurlijk aanwezig om het feest op te vrolijken. Dit keer zijn het vogels met een kuifje geworden. Omdat het een internationale Row is, beelden deze vogels de kardinaalvogels in onze tuin in de USA uit. We hebben daar als gezin een jaar gewoond en genoten van de prachtige natuur.
Voor de internationale Row werd gevraagd dit in inches te doen. Ik heb gekozen voor een maat die erg dicht in de buurt komt van een variant in centimeters. Dit jaar heeft u voor het eerst de keuze om het patroon in inches (INCH) of in centimeters (CM) te downloaden. Het patroon in centimeters is daardoor te combineren met ‘Tweet-NL-2018’ en met ‘Love Birds’.
Daarnaast zal er ook een inch versie van beide patronen komen. Let dus goed op als u deze leuke patronen wilt bestellen welke versie u kiest!

When I was asked to join the Row Along again, I immediately knew what it had to be. This year’s theme really appeals to me, I love summer and the lights in the garden (or at the campsite ;-)). At least lights had to be there. Because the pattern ‘Tweet’ has been a hit for many years, the link in my head was quickly made. The birds are of course also present to cheer up the party. This time they have become birds with a tuft. Since it is an International Row, these birds depict the Cardinals in our garden in the USA. As a family we lived there for a year and enjoyed the beautiful nature.
For the International Row, it was requested to do this in inches. I have chosen a size that is very close to a variant in centimeters. This year for the first time you have the choice to download the pattern in inches (INCH) or in centimeters (CM). The pattern in centimeters can therefore be combined with ‘Tweet-NL-2018’ and with ‘Love Birds’.
In addition, there will also be an inch version of both patterns: ‘Tweet-GB-PDF’and ‘Love-Birds-GB-PDF’. So pay attention if you want to order (and buy) these nice patterns which version you choose!

Veel ontwerpers die hun interpretatie van ‘Tuinfeest’ hebben ontworpen als quiltpatroon.

Op 8 September start de ‘Row Along’ It’s A Garden Party. Veel verschillende ontwerpers hebben wereldwijd hun interpretatie van een tuinfeest ontworpen als patroon. Dit is door elke ontwerper uitgewerkt op de door haar gekozen manier van patchwork / quilten. Ook ik doe mee en heb ‘Home-Tweet-Home’ uitgebeeld. In dit patroon ziet u een variant op de bekende ‘Tweet’ vogels, maar zijn ook lantaarntjes en vogelhuisjes verwerkt. Vanaf 8 september kunt u de patronen gratis downloaden, elke keer weer een ander patroon. Zo vult de rij zich langzaam aan en krijgt u veel verschillende patronen van veel verschillende tuinfeesten wereldwijd.

Hoe werkt het?

Klik op onderstaande link om op de pagina van de deelnemende ontwerpers te komen. Op de genoemde datum zal minimaal 6 dagen, misschien langer, het patroon van ‘It’s a Garden Party’ op de website  van deze ontwerper gratis te downloaden zijn.  
Ook zijn er leuke cadeaus die u kunt winnen. Schrijf u hiervoor in op de betreffende pagina, wie weet dat u er nog een mooi quilt-cadeau aan over houdt, naast al die prachtige gratis PDF-patronen.
(Sommige cadeaus zijn alleen beschikbaar voor inwoners van de USA, maar er zijn ook andere cadeaus, of wordt er een bijdrage voor portokosten gevraagd buiten de USA. Dit jaar heb ik speciaal gevraagd om cadeaus die ook in Europa geleverd worden, zodat er voor iedereen evenveel kans is op een verrassing.) 

Many designers who have designed their interpretation of ‘Garden Party’ as a quilting pattern.

Many designers (worldwide) choose their favorit ‘Party interpretation’ for a quilt pattern. Each designer choose its own way to make it, so you can expect foundation/paperpiecing, traditional patchwork,applique… My pattern is ‘Home-Tweet-Home’. In this pattern you see a variation on the well-known ‘Tweet’ birds pattern, but also lanterns and a bird houses have been designed. See below for the scedual, starting at september 8, 2020. Every thuesday and thursday you can download some free patterns. The Row will grow and grow each time. 

Who participate?

Click at the links to go to the website / blog from that designer, to see their design and download the free PDF. The design will be available for at least 6 days, maybe longer. You can also win many great prices. You need to sign in at the page of this designer to join the ‘give-aways’. Some gifts are for people world wide, some for USA only (it is possible they will charge shipping/handling costs).
